NASCITA E STORIA DELL’ENTE:

L’Associazione si ispira ai valori cristiani che animarono la vita e il pensiero di Madre Eugenia Ravasco, Fondatrice della Congregazione delle Figlie dei Sacri Cuori di Gesù e di Maria.

“…progetto educativo iniziato come tentativo di recupero religioso, morale ed umano della gioventù più povera, che in realtà aveva alla base il carisma di consacrarsi al bene della gioventù, e quindi cercare tutte le strade possibili per un’educazione integrale della persona umana” (BEATA EUGENIA RAVASCO)

Eugenia Ravasco nacque a Milano il 4 gennaio 1845, terza dei sei figli del banchiere genovese Francesco Matteo e della nobildonna Carolina Mozzoni Frosoni. Il 31 maggio 1863, nella Chiesa di Santa Sabina in Genova, dove era entrata per salutare Gesù Eucaristia, attraverso le parole del sacerdote che in quel momento parlava ai fedeli, Eugenia Ravasco ricevette l’invito divino a “consacrarsi a fare il bene per amore del Cuore di Gesù”. Fu l’evento che illuminò il suo futuro e le cambiò la vita. Sotto la guida del direttore spirituale, si mise senza riserve a disposizione di Dio, consacrando a lui, alla sua gloria e al bene delle anime la vita, le energie di mente e di cuore e il patrimonio ereditato dai suoi: “Questi denari – ripeteva – non sono miei, ma del Signore,io ne sono solo depositaria” (cfr Positio C.I., 70). Il 6 dicembre 1868, a 23 anni, fondò la Congregazione religiosa delle Figlie dei Sacri Cuori di Gesù e di Maria, con la missione di “fare il bene” specialmente alla gioventù.

Nel 1871, dopo anni di sforzi prodigati per l’educazione delle bimbe e delle fanciulle delle fasce sociali più deboli della città, Madre Eugenia Ravasco, fondatrice delle Figlie dei Sacri Cuori di Gesù e Maria, diede origine alla Scuola Materna ed Elementare.

Nel 1880 prese avvio la Scuola Normale, che si trasformò nel 1931 in Scuola Media Inferiore legalmente riconosciuta e, fino al 1976, in Istituto Magistrale legalmente riconosciuto. In seguito l’Istituto divenne Liceo Sperimentale ad indirizzo classico, psicologico e linguistico.

Consumata nella salute, Eugenia Ravasco si spense a Genova a 55 anni, nella Casa Madre dell’Istituto, la mattina del 30 dicembre 1900. “Vi lascio tutte nel Cuore di Gesù” fu il suo congedo. Nel 1954 fu aperto l’Istituto Professionale del Commercio, trasformato nel 1965 in Istituto Tecnico per Perito aziendale corrispondente in Lingue estere.

Nel 1970 fu istituita una Scuola Magistrale per maestre di scuola materna.

Nel 1998, dopo la chiusura della scuola superiore di Genova, nasce quindi l’ente di formazione As.Fo.R., per continuare il camminino educativo dell’Istituto.
